I recently upgraded my computer, and like most people decided to give my old computer away. The only thing i'm reusing from my old computer is the case and the hd's.

So Anyways, I get my old computer moved over into a new case, dug up an old hd that was still good, hooked everything up, and press the power button. And here is the problem... The fans kick on, and thats it... the moniter just sits there with a blank screen, no beeps, nothing... I press the power button trying to turn it off, and again. nothing... i have to use the switch on the back of the psu...

So it looks like im in need of some help :(

Try running the MB outside the case on cardboard.

Also list all the parts your using. Might help in understanding other problems.

ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce SPP 100 ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2.2GHz Socket 939

CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)

FREETECH PX6200TD-128M GeForce 6200 128MB DDR PCI Express x16

SeaSonic S12-600 ATX12V / EPS12V 600W Power Supply

its sitting on cardboard now, when i bridge the power switch pins, the fans kick on for a second and then shut off now.

*Edit* just connected the f-pins from the case and now it turns on and stays on, just like it was doing in the case... no hd's or dvd burners or anything else connected right now...

Did you try powering up with 1 stick of RAM?

Is the PC speaker hooked up?

Can you test it by running it with no video card, it should beep.. usually 1 long 2 short beeps, I think.

tried with only 1 stick. no joy.

and the speaker is connected, but it dosnt beep at me when i have the vid card pulled out... speaker is worthless i guess trying it with another case speaker

*Edit* Classic... i switch over to another cases speaker. and press the power button on that case and it boots up just fine... so something is wrong with the other case?

Possible switch problem on the other case.

I remember awhile back, a system stayed at a blank screen. Turns out the person who hit the reset button, pushed too hard.

So in other words the button was pressed in and stuck, which left it on a blank screen.

In this case, its possible the reset or power switch maybe dirty, or perhaps faulty.
