I am trying to do a clean install of Vista 64bit Home Premium and I am running into some problems. When I get to the point where windows starts copying the data from the DVD.
(the first screenshot)
It never gets past 0% and gives me either 1 of two error messages

1. Windows Setup could not reinitialize the deployment engine. To install windows, restart the installation.

2. Windows could not set a partition active on disk 0. The error occured while preparing the computer's system volume. Error code: 0x80070450

I have the following setup if that helps
E6600 Core 2 Duo
MSI P965 Platinium Mobo
500 mb SATA Western Digital Caviar SE16
EVGA 8800 GTS
Antec NeoHe 550 ATX12V
Patriot eXtreme Performance 2gb
Lite-On 20x DVD+- R DVD Burner

I have not tried updating the bios due to time so lets see if you have any ideas. Thanks.

Update your bios. I have a lot of other ideas if you want them...

Double check that your sata cable connections are plugged in the right sata connections at both ends. Verify that the power connection is plugged into the drive. Make sure the power is turned on. Did you plug your ram chips in? Have you correctly plugged the cpu into its socket? I have more ideas after you have checked these, just speak up!

Yep. Everything is ok there with regards to plugging stuff in. I still need to do the bios thing. Keep posting ideas if you can while I get ready to do that.

I actually posted every ass-stupid thing I could think of with regards to your ass-stupid query (no offense). Now you need to do the rest; update your bios whenever you get enough time to do so. If you still continue to have problems, come back with some reasonable symptoms instead of just whines.

I know that many here are good with basic computer setup issues and if you are nice and ask with a little humility, someone will gladly guide a person with your limited skills back to the light.

Sorry. I didn't know what I wrote sounded like whining and I thought my post had reasonable symptoms. Anyway, I gave up and just brought it into the shop because it isn't worth my time. Thanks anyways.
