After reformatting my circa 1998 hard drive & reinstalling Windows 98 I seem to be in this awful Safe Mode loop. Trying to start Windows normally I get the following message:
"While initializing device MSMINI:
Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer"

Could this be caused by using the wrong Win98 installation disk with the product key? We have two old Win98 OS computers in the house. I first used the CD that I thought came with my computer, but I received tons of installation errors. So, I re-reformatted the hard drive & used the other CD. Everything went fine except for this.
