fx5950ultra vs radeon x1950 pro

Hi all, new here, am just having a new pc built from an insurance company as a replacement for a stolen machine and they have offered me a x1950 pro card 256mb pci express as a replacement for my previous geforce fx1950ultra AGPx8. 256mb

my question is will i see a big difference in speed with this new card or is it a worse card than my previous card? The machine specs are the same as before. P4640 3.2ghz socket 775, 1gb 533 ram, 500w PSU,160gb HD,

any advise on if i should accept this card would be of great help

no? not taking piss, to be honest when i built the machine a while back the 5950 ultra was one of the fstest on the market but since then i have not had aby reason to keep up to date with the current graphics card progress, i realise that PCIe is faster than AGP but the first card the insurance offered was a 7300SE and this was actually slower than my previous 5950ultra.. so i complained to them and they have now offered me the x1950 pro so thought id get some users opinion. seems the difference is more than just a little then? as a note i could run HL2 on my old machine at full resolution and settings (except AA) and still return over 50 Fps. so was hoping for similar results from the x1950 pro. :?:

I just bought a x1950 pro. Brilliant card. It is the the lower end of ATI highend cards

Your old 5950ultra is like a 6600GT. A 6600GT when is was released was a midrange card. 6600GT is much better btw

Go the x1950 pro. I am playing all my games @ 1680x1050 with all the graphices turned up high.

I get insane FPS in the Counter Strike: Source stress test, 150fps @ 1680x1050 with HDR and full AA.

considering FIAT is a consortium, we may say that Ferrari is part of FIAT. There is a small nuance here - very small I admit.
Back to topic: the Ati has the 5950 for lunch - as in roughly 4 times faster.
