I have a Zalman 600Watt PSU, Antec Nine Hundred Chassis and Gigabyte DQ6 mobo.

The power connector (the 24-pin) for the mobo from the zalman is too short LOL!

Is there an extension cable I can purchase or do I need to MacGuyver myself one.

What brands are there?

Can anyone help me?

Ouch.

So did you solder the strands of each cable together and tape them up? Wouldnt that create some issues with power quality (discontinuous strands) and void warranty?

What about the quality of the old psu cable?

So you are saying you dont know of an extension cable :-/

Zalman...their power cable was much shorter than the Enermax 600watt...

mpilch, he's talking about the main 24-pin motherboard power, not the CPU power.

DuncanMcCloud, what you're looking for is a 24-pin male to female ATX power extension cable. Here's one:

I checked, newegg doesn't have them (closest they have is 20-to-24 adapter). There are tons of online places that sell them. You could also pick one up from Fry's and I'm betting they have them at Radioshack as well.

Problem is, I live outside of the US and Europe...im in africa....we dont get shipments from your nice online stores :)

I need to get hold of it locally (South Africa)

I checked with our major dealers and it seems they dont have them :-/

Maybe check an electronics shop? The kind that sells raw cable, wires, PCB kit boards, capacitors, LEDs, etc.
