Win98 Install/startup crash Tags: Windows Last response: November 28, 2009 5:55 AM in Windows 95/98/ME Share rapiddecline November 23, 2009 1:18:34 AM CPU AMD Sempron 1.05 MHz, 2GB Ram, 500 GB HD Attempting to setup/run Win98SE as dual boot OS. Installed W98 on FAT partition. After installation attempts to run Win98 produces error " Insufficient memory to Initialize Windows, press any key to continue." Results in a powerdown state. Have Modified Vcache size to 512Mb. Your help will be appreciated. Thank you. Strange as it may seem, Original 1GB Ram, dual boot Win98 installed clean and ran, without any hitches. I had forgotten about a virtual machine, but with the added 1 Gb ram will explore that avenue.
