Given the instructions below I am to set my Hitachi aspect to what
aspect when watching anamorphic (enhanced) DVDs?
What aspect setting for non-anamorphic DVDs?

16:9 Standard? 16:9 Zoom? Which one of these settings is considered
"horizontal only stretch mode"? I d.on't believe either is "horizontal
only stretch mode". Anamorphic material uses a different aspect from
standard Widescreen material. Does the Hitachi possibly handle this
internally and automatically ?

Toshiba's "horizontal only stretch mode" setting is "Full". What is
Hitachi's Anamorphic setting?

1.85:1 Enhanced for Widescreen (Anamorphic) DVDs

These DVDs are the correct aspect ratio to fill a widescreen TV. You
will need to set the TV to it's "horizontal only stretch mode" to
properly see this type of movie. There should be no black bars. If
you use the vertical and horizontal stretch mode by mistake, everyone
will be tall and skinny.

2.35:1 Enhanced for Widescreen (Anamorphic) DVDs:

These DVDs have an aspect ratio that is much wider than it is tall,
so it will not fill a widescreen TV. You will need to set the TV to
it's "horizontal only stretch mode" to properly see this type of movie.
There will be black bars above and below the movie. If you use the
vertical and horizontal stretch mode by mistake, everyone will be tall
and skinny.

It should be the same as my Hitachi 65s500. The 16x9 Standard setting is for
the anamorphic DVD's. But for it to work right, you also have to make sure
your DVD player is set up right. Mine has menu settings for the type of TV,
and it has to be set for 16x9.
