I have Windows 2000 Server with SCSI Hard disks - 2x36 GB in Mirror. I plan to change these two Hard Disks with other 2x146GB to work in Mirror too.
For me would be very useful to know Your method for doing it step by step, because I want to be sure that everything goes right.
I plan to do it on the following way:
1) To switch on the new Hard Disk to the SCSI
2)Clone the whole old Hard Disk( drive C: System and drive D-User shared Folders) to the new Hard Disk
3)Switch off the both old hard disks form the SCSI adapter and switch on the other both new hard disks to it
4) make mirroring of the both hard disks
Why not backup your data to tape, remove HDDs, put in your new disks and install from scratch? Then restore your old data.
You'll elminate any problems or excess stuff you had previously as you know exactly what you wnat on your server. A fresh install wouldn't hurt, though it may take an extra hour or two. Might as well take the time and get it all how you want it.
Though, your idea works as well if you're just looking to get it done with.
