Not getting sound on my windows me computer

Well if nothing else has changed and your sound card is seated properly (shows up in Device Manager and is working correctly), then you likely have plugged your speakers into the wrong jack or something has been muted / volume minimized.

Device manager can lie at times, the best way to check if the sound card is in properly is actually opening the case, and removing the sound card, then putting it back in and closing the case again.
