Hello,

I just tried to install VISTA-Ultimate on a new machine. No issue with the machine, but when I go to install:
1. During install, I am unable to format drive, even though it is the only drive in the system. I tried to troubleshoot, but to no avail. In short, I stopped the install.

2. When I restarted the install, I now get error: BOOTMGR IS Missing, and I am unable to even enter VISTA. Pretty much dead in the water.

3. I tried to install VISTA on another drive & the install starts, no problem. Unfortunately, I have a hard drive that is imprinted with some component of VISTA and it is unusable. Any comments/suggestions?

Thx!

Scott

Download the ultimate boot cd.

http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Download the .iso file, burn to disc, boot from that disc, look under hard disk tools and do a drive wipe, make sure it's one that does a 0 erase wipe that will erradicate any data on the drive, then attempt to reinstall. Worth a shot.
