Windows XP SP2.
MSI K8MM ILSR motherboard.
4 USB Ports on the motherboard(back of PC).
USB to IDE/SATA Converter...http://www.usb-to-ide.com/
HDD... ST3200827AS(200GB, seagate, sata)
HDD... SP0802N(80GB, samsung, pata)
Latest version(v3.7) of BIOS from MSI website.

Whenever I connect the whole setup to my pc it give this error message... "This device can perform faster".

Now the thing is that both the device that is the usb to ide converter and the ports are USB 2.0.

This same issue had come up with the last converter then i got it replaced and it worked fine for a few times and after that it started happening with this one too.

The device works fine on another pc, some other usb 2 devices work fine on my pc. Only issue is this device and my system together.

Cant post IRQs right now as am in office, but will surely do it as soon as i get home.

I have gone through some forums and they tell me to disable the warn about USB errors option, the thing is that this is absoleutly fine but the device still works at USB1.1 speeds, and when u try to copy gigabytes of data, this is a major issue.

usb port could be bad itself, you can try reinstalling usb drivers to make sure its not them.
