will it come with a generic AMD hsf, or one of the ones with the heat pipes?

also, I have heard mixed things about this. If I am not planning on overclocking, but am planning on gaming, should I invest in an aftermarket hsf?

well im not sure about which heat sink it will come with, but if you arent OC'ing then you should be fine with whichever stock HSF you get.

As a matter of fact I just received this CPU and it didn't come with the heatpipe cooler, only the aluminum part. I would recommend buying another cooler along with the OEM part.

I don't think you should need one, but why not step it up to the 5200 or 5600 for the larger cache, you're already paying for it if you go with the 90nm version of the 5000, it's just disabled

What kind of heatsink does the 6000+ come with, or has it only been sold OEM so far?

It should be the new one, but don't waste your time on the 6000, the 5600 is more than fast enough for you, and the 200mhz isn't worth the $50
