I've been researching for a while now and I think I've narrowed down most of my components. Primary use will be for semi-pro photography, moderate gaming and as a home media center. Let me know what you think of the following:

I got these for free about 5-6 months ago and I'm finally about ready to build a system with them:

- Xeon 3070
- Ultra Wizard Blue Case
- Ultra V Series 500w PSU

I already ordered the following memory (good deal with rebates):

- Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) PDC22G6400LLK
- Patriot eXtreme Performance 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) - PDC21G6400LLK

Remaining to be Purchased:

- ASUS P5WDH Deluxe
- 2 x 500 GB Seagate Barracuda SATA HDs (will be using RAID 1)
- ATI Radeon X1950 PRO
- Sony or Samsung DVD burner
- Linkskey internal card reader
- a couple case fans TBD
- 85% sure I'll go with Vista Home Premium

Let me know what you think.

Free is good! I have a friend who does the same things and he always says more screen space! Dual screens, and for you, a wide screen for video and smaller for gaming and detail work. I think that is the same card he uses and hust picked up the Samsung 226BW. He had a viewsonic 19" and if he had room, it would be perfect. 3gb is good, and HD space sounds right. 500-600 gb

For photo work, get the biggest monitor you can. Dell UltraSharp LCDs are mint, though a tad expensive. 22" if you can afford it.

The rest of the components sound sweet. And stuff for free is the best ;)

Yea, for monitors I was looking at a Dell 24" UltraSharp along with my current 19"CRT until I can replace that.

so I'm guessing everything else looks pretty good?
