Is there a big difference between 5300 and 6400 ?

i got 2x1gb corsair PC5300 667 mhz..... is there a big difference from a 6400 ?

and also... what are those ? (5300 / 6400 ? whats the difference ? am i missing alot !? thanks !!

btw.. im using e6600 c2d and 8800 gts 320 mb.

With the Intel chips the most important difference is that the PC6400 (which is 800MHZ) gives you more headroom when OCing. It will also give you a small boost but not really a significant one.

Note that another factor to consider is the timing (again, less important with the Intel chips) because PC5300 CL3 will give almost the same performence as a PC6400 CL5.

PC4200 (533mhz) allows stock operation and no overclocking, PC5300 allows mild overclocking (1333mhz or 333mhz FSB) and PC6400 (800mhz) allows as stated more overclocking head room (FSB1600 tops)

me? im using PC6400 to allow my E6600 to get to FSB1600 speeds
