I just did a reinstall of win2k on an IBM Thinpad. FOr some reason it is not seeing the cd drive. Can anyone help me with this issue. the cd drive does work because thats how i did the reinstall.

Can you see the CD in your BIOS? If so, can you see it in Disk Management? If it's in the BIOS but not in Disk Management I'd start by installing the drivers and let them reinstall on a reboot.

thanks G for your input. I did happen to figure it out. there was a code 31 in Device Manager. I had to delete two keys in the registry. Everythings fine now, again, thanks for the input...
