More Information

I recently built a PC with the intent to install Vista. Well I got Vista Home Premium 64-bit installed without much issue. But I have some issues and realized I am not ready to make a cold turkey leap just yet.

So I deleted the Vista Partition (using Acronis Disk Director), rebooted and then popped in my new Windows XP Professional SP2 OEM disk, so I could do a dual-boot.

Well, as I ensued in the OS installation opera, I got to the point where XP needed to reboot the first time. It rebooted fine, but then it went straight into trying to install XP again. When I told it to install to the same partition it said it recognized "another version of Windows", but wouldn't boot into it.

I unplugged my second HDD, and only have my HDD connected that I want to install Vista on in case that was an issue, and still same result.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well - Found out that if I removed one 2GB of my 4GB everything installed fine.
