My Specs: 2.2GHZ Athlon 1GB Ram, & Win2k with all SVPs and updates.

If I leave my computer on for too long, my screen will turn complelty white or the top part of all windows turns transparent, tons of error windows pop up, and no new programs will run.

I've run memcheck on my computer and experienced a similar reaction with my old 1.4GHZ Athlon with 1.5GB's of ram before I upgraded to my current rig. When I had that system the desktop would turn white and all open windows would jump around the screen.
