More Information

I just built a new PC for my brother which worked fine in my home network. But at his home, his wife's PC ( Windows 98 ) can not see his PC (Windows Pro). My brother's PC can see and access his wife's PC. Ran network setup wizard on the Pro PC, created the network setup disk and ran it on the 98 PC.

Workgroup name the same.
NetBIOS is enabled.
Both are running Mcafee, virus and firewall.
Belkin Wireless Router, but these two PCs are hard wired in.

Any help most appreciatted.

I've fixed the problem with my brother's network. The earlier time I attempted to fix it, I was being rather haphazard in my approach. I realized that and I was working on a procedure checklist to use for my next attempt. But I found a far better guide on the internet. So for any of you having Windows' networking problems take a look at this guide at

http://www.crn.com/white-box/59200376

It is by Carey Holzman and he has a website at http://www.careyholzman.com/

I thought his guide was easy to understand and well organized. I followed the steps and fixed the networking difficulty in short order.
