The question is, do I really need Ultimate? All I see is Bitlock, which prevents people from hacking files in a LOCAL network. It's not like it really helps out or anything. I'm trying to decide between 2 laptops, and one comes with Ultimate preloaded and the other doesn't.

They both have their ups and downs, but is having Ultimate preloaded a HUGE positive or it doesn't really matter?

How do they compare hardware-wise?

Basically the one without Ultimate has 8600 GT(Ultimate has 3100 Intel) graphics, and a whole lot of other stuff. Ultimate is not necessary, I think Home premium is just fine.

I'd go for the one with the superior hardware.... regardless of the OS. If that happened to be the one with Ultimate, then so much the better. However, the one with Home Premium seems to have a better video card... so clearly, that's the one to get.
