I'm going to be ordering a new system at the end of the month (parts in my sig), and I'm trying to decide whether or not the Foxconn 8800 GTS is worth the extra cash. Its overclocked to the same clockspeeds as the GTX (obviously different number of shaders though) which is a pretty significant change. As of now its $394.99 on Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814186016) which is a bit of a price drop.

Whaddya think? This one, or just get a cheaper, decently overclocked (or even stock-clocked) one and overclock it some more? The extra money would save me the hassle, I've never had a good history with oc'ing

Thanks!

Get the cheaper one and use ATI Tool to OC it. It's extremely easy. I told a friend that can barely figure out how to turn his PC on (exageration) about ati tool and he used it and worked out fine with him and his temps. I just don't see the point in spending $10 - 30 on a factory OC when it's the same hardware.

yes and it works great. Since most newer nvidia drivers wont let you use rivatuner.

nTune works great too. Nice monitoring app as well.

Well, his is right man.
I never used ATITool before but since i had some problem with nTune & RivaTuner for OverClocking my 8800GTS i decided to use ATITool & i must say that it's much better & easier than nTune or RivaTuner...Damn it...

cool... strange, but cool. You guys should check out ATI Tray Tools (Ray Adams) I like that better then ati tool.

Yeah I used AtiTool for my 6800GT on my old system. Worked out a lot better for me than other tools, but something happened to my card, probably fried or overheated, so I had to have it replaced, I never really tried oc'ing it again.

I'll probably end up getting a cheaper card unless the price on the Foxconn model drops some more. Thanks for your replies.

BTW, does anyone know what sort of warranty Foxconn offers?
