Hey, I am having trouble with getting postfix to work. After messing around with it a bunch (including installing and removing several times), I get an error message whenever I install postfix or do "sudo /etc/init.d/postfix restart" that says:

postfix: fatal: /etc/postfix/postfix-script: Permission denied

I have looked in the /etc/postfix/ directory and there is no file or folder postfix-script at all. The problem remains even after I do the following

$ sudo apt-get remove postfix
$ sudo apt-get install postfix

I am currently running Ubuntu 7.04 on the machine.

Is SELinux active?

Have you tried manually removing /etc/postfix and re-installing again?

Checked dmesg and the apt-get log for errors?

Good luck :)
