Hello all. I have some issues with Vista Home Premium that, hopefully, may be resolved. Here they are:

- When I reboot, it takes about a minute to start up, as well as to shut down...is this normal?

- When I restart, I get this message" aswBoot.exe file not found..." What does this mean?

- I wanted to use the "Upgrade" option to reinstall Home Premium Vista to work out any kinks, but I am not able to do that. It goes through the motions, and the last screen message says something to the effect that "Upgrade failed. Your previous version of Windows has been restored..."

- I have Vista Ultimate that I wanted to install. After going through the process, I get the same exact message that I'm getting above. What is the cause of not allowing me to upgrade?

Thanks in advance!

aswBoot.exe is a Trojan/Virus. Google aswBoot.exe.

Do a Clean install of Vista. then before you install ANY programs do the Upgrade. Also make sure you have a AntiVirus installed and updated.

Thanks Haplo! I think that is what I'm going to end up doing. Once I do the clean install, will that take care of the Trojan/Virus? Thanks for the help and advice!
