I have on old PC wit three hard drives, an 80GB and 20GB PATA with a 750GB SATA. I'd like to remove the 20GB because it never gets used and is just creating heat. After removing the drive, Windows starts initializing but then freezes with 12 blue boxes on the screen.

I've tried running fixboot and fixmbr with the drive removed, but nothing changes. The only way to get the OS working again is to re-install the drive.
