The problem I am having is that, I have an old computer, a dell 2000, and I have forgotten the password to log on to windows. Is there anyway I can get around this to be able to install a new version of windows. I was told to un plug the jumper cable from the mother board, I have know idea what that is and is there a picture of it somewhere.

You don't need a Windows password to install a new version. Boot from the Windows CD and format the hard drive.
