You show that you are running XP Pro...is it 32bit or 64 bit. A 32 bit system can only access somewhere between 2.8 to 3.5 Gb of RAM by design...depending on your other hardware (video card.)

I have Vista 32bit with 4Gb of RAM installed and am able to access 3.58Gb of RAM.

32-bit operating systems can only address 4G. This 4G includes 256M reserved for system use plus whatever amount of VRAM your video card has. So, if you have a video card with 512M of RAM, then you will only be able to use 3.2G of RAM for your applications and games.

When I use a 32-bit operating system on my computer, I only have 2.2G RAM for use with applications and games (4G - (256M + 768M + 768M)) since I have two video cards with 768M VRAM in SLI.

When I switched to 64-bit Vista, I now have 4G available for applications and games. But, since the 64-bit drivers for my XFi card and my 8800 video cards are not stable, I am switching back to 32-bit Vista.

Hopefully, in the near future, I will be able to switch back to 64-bit.
