I am building a system which will have a P35 motherboard, 4GB of DDR2-800, an 8800GTX, and a Q6600 processor. I hear that to use my full 4GB of ram, I need 64 bit OS... but do any of my other componants require a 64 bit OS?

Also, I hear that 64 bit XP and Vista are slow and full of bugs... is this true?

What kind of software doesnt work with 64 bit? I also hear there are a lot of driver problems?

Its going to be a hardcore gaming system and those rumors are making me nervous...

I have almost the exact setup you have and I run WinXP Pro 32 bit. I figure when all the issues with Vista are cleared I can always switch. I don't need the driver headaches and the worries about what software runs and what doesn't run. My main machine will run XP and later I will setup another pc for Vista testing. Try and mimick or duplicate my other pc w/o the worries. Besides, I've seen reports where XP runs faster with certain programs than Vista. I like to be safe and I think this is the safest way for now. Just my 2 cents.
