HI Is it true that Vista can't handle 4 gigs of memory. I read that most programs are made to handle only 2 gigs of mem. Vista could use up to 3 gigs and that was it. Is this a true statement. Also Can any on name a inexpensive place to make my own web page. I will need help because I have no idea about making a web page. Thanks Bruce

I have Vista 32 bit with 4Gb of Corsair PC6400, 2 2Gb DIMMs. Vista is working fine and it is indicating that I have 3.58 Gb available. I knew this before purchasing and am not bothered about it. I use the computer mainly for Photoshop and could use the extra RAM...besides the 4Gb only cost $279 plus I am waiting on a $40 rebate

32-bit operating systems can only address 4G. This 4G includes 256M reserved for system use plus whatever amount of VRAM your video card has. So, if you have a video card with 512M of RAM, then you will only be able to use 3.2G of RAM for your applications and games.
When I use a 32-bit operating system on my computer, I only have 2.2G RAM for use with applications and games (4G - (256M + 768M + 768M)) since I have two video cards with 768M VRAM in SLI.
When I switched to 64-bit Vista, I now have 4G available for applications and games. But, since the 64-bit drivers for my XFi card and my 8800 video cards are not stable, I am switching back to 32-bit Vista.
Hopefully, in the near future, I will be able to switch back to 64-bit.
