Not sure if this is the right place...but here goes......

On my Old PC that has Windows XP on it... I am having a problem where the desktop will not load at all... All it shows is my background picture...
It will start up in Safe Mode and load everything.
So what can be the problem... I really dont want to wipe the hard drive clean, but this will be my last option.... So will someone please give some suggestions just in case I have over looked something

You could try doing an XP repair off the CD

What doesn't load?
Is it your icons?
If your icons aren't loading maybe they're just hidden.
Look in your options for the desktop (with your right mouse button) for a way to unhide the icons.

I can't help you with the exact path because I'm in a Unix workstation.
