Hi guys,

I have a problem that my system partition is running out of space and need to increase. I have Server 2003 Enterprise, one hardware RAID1 with 2 160G drives, 2 partitions, C for system, D for temp;
1 RAID5 with 3 500G drive for data, there is only one partition.

I have to expand the system partition immediately, as the free space is 200M, but there is a problem that I cannot turn off or restart my server, as many users connecting to it.

Can someone give me a method how to resize the server online?

If partition D is not important, you may delete it and use diskpart to extend your OS partition, which is command line tool, provided by Microsoft and is free.

If you want to use third party software, I recommend using easeus partition master, it is the only software that can do this, other famous tool, for example, partition magic doesn't compatible with server, disk director requires reboot after install.

Note that if the system partition is FAT32, no tool can help you expand without reboot.
