Last night I installed the two updates from Microsoft for Vista

Updates that are available http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=938979 improves the Performance and Reliability of Windows Vista and http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=938194 improves the Compatibility and Reliability of Windows Vista.

After reading what these two fixes would help I figured I would update my computer...Microsoft stated the updates are available at a download site and that they would be available through Windows "at a later date." http://www.adtmag.com/article.aspx?id=21099

Once installed I have noticed an immediate improvement - waking from sleep or resuming from my photo screen saver used to take 10 to 15 seconds and now takes less than one.

I didn't see this posted anywhere else and wanted everyone to have access.

Thanks for posting this here. I'd like to add a brief comment just to help people out...

If you have disabled integrity checks (signed drivers) in Vista x64, via BCDEdit, be aware that there have been reports that these updates can force signed checks to resume. This shouldn't affect most people but there are some applications that require check bypassing (i.e., ATI Tray Tools).

These updates are really effective, speed in general use is vastly improved and the boot up times are halved.
