Hi.

I recently just restarted my computer and now my 200gb slave drive is no longer detectable in Explorer or Disk Manager. It's been working fine for 2 years now so I have no idea why all of a sudden it would no longer be seen by Windows. I pulled up BIOS, and it autodetects it there and lists it as my primary slave, yet when I log into XP, it won't show up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Try posting more information.
Is it SATA? PATA?
Take a look at the jumper.
If it is set to cable select try switching it to slave, sometimes that makes it work.

Somehow the problem fixed itself... sorta. I went into BIOS, and did a "Set to Default" option. When Windows started, it said it detected an error in my G: drive (one of the two partitions of the slave drive) and was going to do a disk check. It ran for 30 seconds, said it found and fixed an error, then the drive was recognized as normal.

Definitely will look into backing things up on my external HD instead of relying on my internal slave drive. Thanks for the reply though.
