Erm, yeh, basically, hows it perform?

If I choose to get a 140gb raptor space MAY at some point be an issue, but how does compressing it on the properties section perform?

Surely if my comptuer is fast enough I wont notice a difference?

Also, is it best to compress just the C drive or the whole computer stuff saved on the C drive.

Please only responses from people who are sure they know the answer, no guesses, or "I think"'s.

Thanks!

Hard drives are the biggest bottleneck in your computer... why slow it down even more using compression? Buy a bigger hard drive... 500GB drives are really cheap... probably even cheaper than the Raptor you're considering.

Compression slows down your computer... no matter how fast it is, you WILL notice a difference. This is because compressed files have to be decompressed on the fly in order to be read. I have never liked the option (even back in the DOS days) and big hard drives are just too cheap nowadays for it to be even necessary.

Yeh a 500gb hard drive is nearly 1/3rd price of a Raptor.

Im not going to go with the Raptor then ill go with the 320gb one. Just a better all around deal :D
