Greetings fellow NT users and antique hardware fans,

I've been charged with building a new/old system for a factory. There are 3 requirements for this machine. First, it must be Win NT SP6. Second, it must include a custom software which is installed on the old PC, but there are no install disks or CDs for it; this leaves imaging the old machine to the new as the only option. Third, it must have ISA slots for a proprietary controller card.

So basically, it must have the same hardware, and a more robust storage system (main reason for the new build).

A few questions. If all the other hardware is the same, can I image a HDD with NT to another PC with a *similar* motherboard, but with the same chipset?

A two-drive SCSI RAID1 configuration is in line to replace a single IDE drive setup that's failed more than once. Is it possible to image the entire HDD, with NT, to a RAID config? My thinking is to install the RAID card drive before imaging, then put the image on the RAID1 of the new machine. Thoughts?
