Hey guys,

I have absolutely no idea how to use the registry much less understand what it does. I am currently looking for a registry book for windows XP at the most novice level but i can not find one. Im sorry if this is not the right place to post but im relatively new to these forums and couldn't find a better place. Either way, i just need a very basic book for the windows XP registry. Also, if you could get me a registry book for novices for windows vista, that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

I want to be a computer technician but i already have many books all about windows XP OS. I want to learn everything there is starting from basics about the Registry. Right now i don't need to touch my registry i just want to learn about it to better prepare for the test. Also, on Amazon.com i looked up Windows vista registry guide or registry book and found nothing. Does windows vista even have a Registry?

I haven't seen any books on the registry.
The thing is that each application writes to it differently an it would be very difficult to capture everything in a book.

Here you can find some registry edits: http://www.theeldergeek.com/registry_edits.htm
but it's more like specific things to do instead of a registry 101 website
