Hey
I cant get the Qx6700 to work with the striker extreme mobo
any help as to why would be greatly appriciated

My mate bought the qx6700 the striker extreme, quad sli 7950 gx2s and 2 gb ocz ddr 1066 sli ready memory.

We used my system to check that the quad core was working as i have the evga 680i mobo, corsair ddr 800 4-4-4-12, 8800gtx and it worked fine (it was a freakin awesome upgrade for my system lol) in my system so the cpu works fine.

We put my e6300 c2d in his system to check his mobo was workin fine and it all worked perfectly even with the quad sli enabled.

We also took out the quad sli and ran a 64mb pci card we had lying around and it still wouldnt work. Using the e6300 we installed windows on one of the hdds and gave the mobo a bios update and it still wouldn work.

If anyone got any ideas as to why the components wont work together please post reply as his system sitting here doing nothin.

Cheers
pk

His mobo will need at least a bios version 0601 to run QX6700. It may be printed on a label on the bios chip. Or boot it up with another cpu to see the version.
