Ok, I am getting frustrated. I have started overclocking my e6600 and I can boot to windows and run programs no problem (can't test games yet as my video card is a temp POS ) and my thermals are excellent (33Cidle, 46Load in orthos prime).

The problem is that EVER SINGLE TIME I run orthos overnight (i've done it twice, almost a third time) it stops at the 7.5 hour point which happens to be the 2nd test of 10240k length FFT. I have upped my memory voltage as well as my northbridge and SPP, all of which are as low as they can go. Is

My actual question is does every aspect of the stress test matter? I have little knowledge of what stress testing indicates and what an error in a stress test will actually mean when I run a normal program or game. Do I have to test long length iterations?

7.5 hours sounds ok. But you probably shouldn't be getting any. If you back off a bit on the oc do you still only get to 7.5 hours? Try Prime95 overnight and see how that goes. After that you should try just using your computer for normal day to day tasks and see if you get any freezes or reboots.

Try running memtest, this will help you narrow down your surch for the problem area.

already did 2 passes of memtest... i'll try backing off the OC, although i've reached 2 hours at 3.2 (didn't run it longer as i got greedy and ended up backing down to 3 for cooling reasons), but of course the auto voltage setting set it to 1.4v (yea, i disabled that bugger).
