I have a Dimension XPS 600, Intel Pentium D Processor 940 (3.2GHz) w/ 2MB cache. with (2) 250GB SATA II Hard Drives (7200RPM) and 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX video card. I tried to install winxp 64 bit on the computer but the software can't see the harddrives. To check I reinstall winxp pro up to the the point of hard drive detection and the drives can be seen. how do resolve this problem so i can install win xp 64 bit? Thanks in advance.

When you boot with the windows cd just when it's starting it tells you something like hit F6 to load drivers so be very alert when it's starts loading or you'll have to reboot and do it again

I tried hitting F6 but no response even holding down the key. It just continues through the setup. What next if anything?

Try using a different keyboard. Win xp pro 64 might not be recognizing you keyboard. Maybe use a PS2 Keyboard initially.

If it is a USB keyboard you will have to hit F lock first as the default is wrong for F6 to work.
Also, in my recent experience with a G/B P35 board and XP with SP2, unless you want to set up a RAID you should not need to do this anyway, just make sure your bios settings are correct.
