My computer keeps freezing every few minutes and going really slow. I think its usually when i'm doing something on the internet and i'm thinking its something malware related.

I'm also starting to believe its hardware. i've ran decker scans and kaspersky scans and everythings running clean now. My cpu usuage starts going through the roof for no apparent reason and locking up on me.
Yes this happens even when i am running firefox. When i first turn my computer on it runs fine. then after 5 or 10 minutes it starts getting slow.
I say you got a key logger in that file, I removed this from someone 3 weeks ago, the exact same problem, read here
http://www.anti-spy.info/file/smss.exe.html this can be found at microsoft tec site, more depth info there
this is tricky becuse its another one that changes its name. the system dont know where it is the bug is moving all over the friggen system.

Had a few nasties before like vundo before but i thought those days were behind me. perhaps not.
Also my computer is making strange whining noises lately, it sounds like the fan is going. would this have an effect on performance?
Thanks a mill in advance

The ones I marked in red are the virus seeming how file not found tells me its moved to some other part of the system. your infected redo the system. you can go to HKLMsoftware/microsoft/windowsnt/currentversion/winlogin and remove these lines. Also check HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run and remove any reference to those files may be a different name if there is a name in there you really dont know why its there remove

If you think its hardware related try turing off the memory booster that is running and see if that helps.
Also not sure what this line means
Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'xfire_lsp_10908.dll' missing
