More Information

First of all I've searched the forums and found no duplicates for this topic
and 2nd I know this topic is kind of pointless, but I've discovered something and like to
share it with all of ya! :)

1. Vista Home Basic's color scheme is pretty darn ugly compare to
the other Vista editions that has Aero Glass.

2. Users who got Vista Home Basic and wants Aero Glass can go online
and find a hack to force Enable Aero Glass for Vista Home Basic.
like the instructions below

Trick for enabling AERO interface in windows vista home basic edition

* Open run command on start menu (start menu (button )->Run) and in Run command type regedit and press enter/ok button. Now registry editor will be opened. There see some hierarchical tree like folder structures(keys) in left pane and many key value pairs on right pane.

* In the left pane navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft> Windows > DWM key by first opening/double clicking HKEY_CURRENT_USER and then moving to Software under it and so on according to path structure HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft> Windows > DWM .

* Now in right side see a lot of key-value pairs we need to change 2 values so change Composition to 1 and CompositionPolicy to 2 . Composition and CompositionPolicy are 2 registries entries double click them separately and in the box provide values 1 and 2 respectively and press ok and close the registry editor window.

* Restart DWM. Open command prompt (type cmd in run tool in start menu) first and in command prompt type 2 commands-: net stop uxsms and net start uxsms required that you have admin access. Another way to restart DWM is to open run from start menu and type
services.msc and enter and then services list will appear where you
have to locate Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager service (perhaps
) and right click on it and in cascaded context menu select Restart.

Restart Windows Vista Home Basic Edition and enjoy Windows
Aero interface in vista’s home basic edition which is much cheaper than other editions.

That is one way but
another way is to set the Color scheme to Vista standard and users who has Home Basic can too
get the Aero visual style.

I've my Ultimate and it does not have that "Vista standard" scheme only Home Basic has.

Well that's it have a nice day. :D
