New System, TYAN S2696A2NRF - with 2 E5320 XEON, WD 150Raptop and LiteON DVD burner.

Installing XP x64, goes through initial startup and says, "Starting Windows." Then hits a Blue Screen of Death with STOP 7b error, which is an inaccessible boot device.

I'm going to make the assumption that the proper driver for the SATA controller is installed with XPx64 by default. Just to make sure I had the latest and greatest, I downloaded the XP x64 SP2 and integrated it to make a new XP x64 with SP2 Boot CD. Still had the same results.

Next problem is no Floppy on this computer. So even if I do F6, I can't do anything with a floppy...

So, how do I figure out the correct SATA Driver and put that into the ISO so XPx64 will boot fine?

I can install XP with SP/2 no problem. It's just the x64 that has this problem.

Thanks!

Update-

Solved, for both 2003 SVR Standard and the OEM XPx64, I had to slipstream in the drivers with nLite and also added SP2 at the same time. Once I did this I was able to install with no problems.

I will say, These MFG's really need to just put drivers out there. It was a pain to just get the driver files and not a ton of other crap. I ended up having to install a whole package from Intel when all I needed was the driver.
