i just won't a really quiet PC just to use it as light ftp or for storage. what do you guys recommend. just making it for fun. but make it the cheapest as possible with new parts. just cpu.

sorry man i wrote it wrong but i meant i need whole system except keboard,mouse and moniter. i will need processor,motherboard, memory case power supply. hard drive 40gb or less. just make the the cheapest new pc you can.

dell or hp or even ebay for ur purposes would do fine... And they come with OS. Just make sure you throw in a few extra hard drives for space.

I agree, just get a Dell. It's pretty much going to be the cheapest option, sure, you could build a pc using all new parts for like $150, but it's going to be slower then a C64, have no upgrade path, and the hastle of ordering the parts, putting everything together, trouble shooting, ect., is too great for such a cheap machine.
