i play cod2 on vista 64 and i have no problems. i think vista is a good os. i like it alot. its runs fast. nice. and it looks nice to i remember saying i will never get vista. but look what happend. i am happy i did it. i have winrar on here as well
also when you install a game click on the short cut in the desktop of the game and go to Compatibility and put it for windows xp sp2 and click alppy and have fun
thanks i will do that but i first have to get more memory and i think that im getting it in two weeks and also i've got another question... is my X1550 compatible with Halo 2 or any other game for "windows vista"
if you have the money and dont want to go in to DX10 right now. i would get a X1950Pro i paid like $134 or something like that and it runs good on my 20" widescreen. i dont know on the X1550. look to see the spec's on the box or a webite. becuase i have never used a X1550 to in truth i could not tell you. i would get a X1650 or a 1950Pro. or if you want to wait for the 8800GT. the 1950 is a good card. the 8600GTS and 8600GT is Pos
well i dont have the money and i'm also buying new memory for vista and i've been playing COD2 and NFS Most Wanted and Halo 1 with max settings at 1024x768 in my 17 inc CRT and it can go to 1920x1080 but the games wont work at that resolution (it might but with low settings) but the video playback(even HD) runs smoothly at 1920x1080 =] and i will wait until next year to buy a new video card with a new processor and a new PSU because my current PSU is a 450W with 22 or 28amps on the 12v rail
if you are happy with it stay with it lol. and a heads up the new ati drivers run good on vista. to are you using vista 32 or 64? and what is your setup going to be
for right now im thinking to put Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bits, two gigs of DDR2800(A-Data) and i'll still use my current processor, a Pentium D 820 @ 3GHz and you know what else dude???? you are the only one who has helped me like this and thank you
If you are smart, get Vista Ultimate, and get 64Bit (64bit is the future) might as well get ready now unless this is a "for now" Computer.
Everyone says 2GB of memory will do it, but my 64Bit Vista idles at 1.76GB of memory lol...
If your CPU isn't x64 compatible then and only then would i get 32bit. keep in mind Vista was made for 64Bit and was then written for 32bit, and from my personal experience its allot more stable than 32bit.
Also don't install Vista as the "Upgrade" do a custom install and Dual boot. Its just the smart thing to do. you dont lose XP and your not dead in the water if and when Vista doesnt work and if you need help figureing out how to dual boot, email me.
I know for a fact if you dont have experience with Vista you will most likely install it multiple times. and if you Dual boot you dont lose XP.
Ah yea, forgot, the reason you dont do the upgrade is because it makes your XP Key no longer Valid!

i know that and yes my processor handles 64 bits and i dont know how to do the dual boot thingy... i used to know how to do it and well.... i would rather do an clean install for windows vista and i just can afford the 32 home premium version
If you buy Home Premium, and send Microsoft something like $10, they'll send you a 64 bit disc. Just so you know.
