I am getting a new laptop and it comes with Windows Vista. I have heard that Vista is a big graphics hog. My laptop comes with a 128MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M G video card. Will that be sufficient or should I spend the extra $100 to get the 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT. I hardly ever play any games on my computer. So the sole purpose of getting the higher video card will be for Vista. Is it needed?

Other system specs:

Processor: T7500 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB/4MB cache
MEMORY 2x1GB Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz

Thanks.

You won't need it if you're not gaming, but for the high end processor this PC has you might as well get it for the extra hundred. That will make sure that Aero and 3D graphics don't slow it down.

For $100, it's worth it. Even just to save your processor/memory the extra work.
