Can you give us some more information please?

What's the model number?

What version of fedora are you running?

Plug the USB in and click on Applications => System Tools => Terminal

then type in

  1. /sbin/lspci
  2. /sbin/lsusb
  3. /bin/dmesg

and post the results.

This I am getting from the unit and creative's site.
I made some of the recommended changes;however, (good and bad) now the internal sound card works but still cant get the external (usb) to work. I read somewhere that the realtek driver works but the person did not say which realtek unit nor can I locate any realtek usb drivers.
Any additional assistance would be appreciated.

on debian 3.7.2 plug in usb, then type /bin/dmesg .... should get something like this towards bottom...
1.00 Device [Creative Technology Ltd Sound Blaster X-Fi Go! Pro] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-1/input3
[ 1403.745830] usbcore: registered new interface driver snd-usb-audio

that means linux sees it... now go into system systems > sound, and select sound blaster as your interface card...

I'm glad this worked for me, since I dropped my laptop and it landed on the sound card with earphones plugged in, and killed my sound. With the sound blaster card I got sound again. Praise God! Jesus Saves!
