Sorry I can't actually help, but I have a similar problem. Just got a new PC running Vista, and everything works except my mic (which was fine on my old PC, so I don't think it's faulty hardware). I can't run Skype as it doesn't let me start conversations (saying no mic detected), and when I go to check the setup in control panel, under sound, I have 'No audio devices are installed', under 'Recording Devices'. Does this mean I have some sound card from the dawn of time that doesn't recognise mics?

my "only" solution at the momment as it seems is to get a new mic that has vista supported drivers with it of on the net...
