Overclocking with slower ram?

Right now, I'm looking at building a very budget PC, and I hope to OC the cpu to at least 2.5ghz.

GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3
CORSAIR XMS2 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675 (PC2 5400)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
550W Power Supply

Would I have to bump up the ram speeds to DDR2 800 or should I run the ram in dual-channel? How far could I push this with these specs?

Thanks.

Oh yeah, if I used generic Kingston ram with the same speed but a CAS latency of 5, would it affect anything?

I would do the following:

Go into BIOS:

Adjust FSB to : 333 MHz
Keep multiplier at : 7 (think that's the default)
Adjust Memory multiplier to : 2.0x
Make sure that the voltages settings are set to auto otherwise adjust manually..

If you press CTRL+F1 in main BIOS menu you adjust the memory timings.

This will give you a processor speed of 333x7 = 2.331 GHz while keeping your memory at it's correct speed DDR2 667. Make sure you have good cooling on CPU, you want anywhere below 42oC idle and below 60oC full load..
