I am a little unclear about why people chose Vista 32 over Vista Ultimate 64? I mean people want 4GB of ram but run Vista 32 instead of Vista 64 and I am at a loss as to why. Is there something about Vista 64 that I don't know?
If I were to get Vista 64 with 4GB of ram would I have problems running say Nvidia drivers or games on Vista 64? Are there incompatiblities that I am unaware of? Why doesn't everyone run Vista 64? Sorry for all the question but I am really confused here. Thanks for clearing my brain, it crowded in there man!

It's mostly about driver support, IMHO. 32-bit drivers will NOT work on Vista x64. Plus, Vista x64 is pretty picky about 64-bit drivers, and (unless you use hack it to turn it off) requires them all to be digitally signed. Quite a few vendors don't or won't go through the hassle of signing their drivers just so Vista x64 will play nice with them. nVidia's WHQL drivers are signed, but not their betas. As for software compatibility, generally speaking all 32-bit applications run on x64. The good news is that 64-bit native support is growing every day. I use x64 as my main OS on my gaming system and have ZERO problems with it. Just my experience, and as always your mileage may vary.

What are your PC spec's and what games do you play? This will give me a better idea if Vista 64 is for me. I like to play FPS, RTS and just about good game that comes out that most like to play. For all you Vista 64 users whats your hardware and what games do you play? Thanks a million!

My specs are: Intel E6850 (not overclocked) Abit IP35-Pro motherboard (using on-board sound, no add-in card) 4Gb Corsair DDR2-800 RAM Seagate 300Gb and 320Gb hard drives EVGA 8800GTX using v163.69 WHQL drivers and of course Vista Home Premium x64
I play all different kinds of games. Currently installed are: Fable, Dungeon Siege 2, Hellgate:London, Overlord, Civilization 4, MS Flight Sim X, Neverwinter Nights 2, Rainbow Six:Vegas. Just finished Company of Heroes, Prey, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. So as you can see, I play quite a variety of games and I have absolutely no problems with any of them under Vista x64. I'm sure I lose a couple frames per second compared to 32-bit Vista and a few more than that compared to XP, but honestly my eyes can't tell the difference. I'm able to turn up all the details to max most of the time and get smooth gameplay. What more can I ask for? Oh yeah, stability. x64 has that in spades, for me at least.

DFI LP P35 T2R mobo, Sept 13, 07 bios
Beringer 7.1 audio (came with the mobo)
Intel Q6600 @ 8/400 for 3.2Ghz
Plextor SATA 810 Optical drive, on the default Vista drivers
4GB Corsair Dominator @ DDR2 800
EVGA (nVidia) 8800GTX on the current (163.69) Vista 64 driver
Seagate 7200.11 1 TB HDD on the default Vista drivers. No RAID
and out through a Samsung 20" Widescreen... Currently looking at moving to a 24" panel, but haven't made up my mind yet which.
Currently installed games: Neverwinter Nights 2, NWN2 Mask of the Betrayer, World of Warcraft, Oblivion, and Bioshock. They all work perfectly well.
