System disc failure,replace disc & press any key

Hello,
Windows 98, installed boot disc,hit enter & nothing happened.

A system disc failure would mean the hard drive has either failed, the OS is corrupted or something is obstructing the path between the computer and the hard drive.

Check and see if the hard drive is still in operation. If so just insert the boot disk and restart. It should bring up options as to what you would want to do with the disc.
