Yes, you can do it the Microsoft way, or my way. My way takes a long time but is fail-safe.

Here's The Microsoft way, (some will say it is superior to mine, and I don't mine the criticism).

My Way: Boot from the Win2K Cd. Go through process of performing a Repair.

Tons of files get copied into your hard drive.

When all files get copied, Setup prepares to restart your computer, here NTLDR and anything else is fixed.

Windows restarts computer, be poking the F8 key once a second until the boot choices screen shows up.

The default is now to start Windows 2000 installation/repair.

Use cursor keys to start your regular Win2k, press enter. Windows starts like nothing bad ever happened.

Go to: Settings>Control panel>system>advanced>startup and recovery>Default Operating System, and select "Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional/fastdetect"

Uncheck (if checked) "Display list of operating systems for" XX seconds.

Click OK.

Now open Windows Explorer, click the C drive. Delete the install files starting with a dollar sign ($) that are probably at the top of the list.

You are done.
