I just had a new system built last week and loaded XP x64 as my operating system. I am seeing a huge decrease in my framerate while gaming and was told on another forum that XP x64 is probably the culprit. I thought that going 64 bit would be an improvement over 32.

Does anybody concur that XP x64 is the reason? I used to average around 50fps on my old system and now I'm only averaging in the low 20s if I'm lucky. Also my 3DMark05 score was only around 6600 which was by far the worst score when compared to other builds similar to my system.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I wouldnt chalk is up to x64 XP just yet. My buddy has his "Server" (a super glorified rack mounted PC basically) which runs XP x64 for our Lan Parties. He has dual Opteron OCed 185's, 8GB RAM, and a 7950GX2 video card. He gets something like 14K or 15K on 3dmark05. He has not had any issues running any games to date so far.
I think your issue lies somewhere else. What games are you running that get such low rates? Make sure XP is fully patched. Make sure you have up to date drivers for EVERYTHING.
I play World of Warcraft which I don't think is too graphics intensive. I have the newest version of video drivers and most current version of Bios. This system is only 3 days old and XP is fully patched with all updates. The FSB is running at 1333mhz, my memory is running at 800mhz, my CPU is running at 2.66ghz, and all the connections seem to be intact. Any idea what else could be a problem?
